If you've paid half attention to me in the last two years, you would have realized that I have become a warrior against human trafficking. There is no going back on this for me. I have found a purpose in my life, and I will continue to fight it with increasing intensity until all of our children are safe.
I saw the Sound of Freedom movie as a watershed moment for the cause. Why? Because the cause, first and foremost; needed awareness. Human trafficking exists in the underbelly of society. It's in front of our faces, on our streets, and next door to us. We see it daily, and we don't even realize it. Discussing hurting children and the vulnerable is an ugly and tough subject, so we must become tough.
However, I am seeing news articles attacking the movie and questioning the seriousness of the problem. It seems a near evil attempt to degrade the defcon 1 gravitas of this global problem. I'm dumbfounded by it. I keep asking myself why could they possibly be doing this? Is it because the lead actor is an avowed Christian? Is it because the internet "QANON" contained conspiracy theories about political leaders and celebrities?
I realize we may be living it the most tribal and polarized moment in American history since the Civil War. However, this movement cannot be hijacked by that. I am going to assume the answer is less nefarious and the reason these left leaning publications are doing this because they see the "American Right" as leading this conversation, and are just compelled to take the opposite position. We saw an example of this just before the election as several political and media personalities were widely questioning the safety of the Covid Vaccine, the right wing side in support of it, until after the election. The two sides switched their stances on the subject, betraying all rationale thought.
Or quite possibly its just greed. Controversy attracts engagement, and engagement earns money. Whatever the reason, this MUST stop. This is a not a partisan issue, this is the great commission of our time, and political shenanigans cannot be thwart this movement.
This Sound Of Freedom is not about politics, its not about a religion, and its not about a conspiracy theory. My fellow warriors in fighting this come from all backgrounds, religions(atheism), and political beliefs, and its going to take all of us. If you read something that is keeping you from seeing this movie and learning more, I beg you to understand that author does not have yours, or especially child victims best interest in mind.
Go see Sound Of Freedom, learn more about what's happening globally, and join the fight to help the millions of children currently enslaved and abused daily around the globe.
